This past weekend was a busy one in the town of Windham, NY, where travelers came from all over came to enjoy the nice warm weather, take in the exquisite mountain views, and participate in the following events:

Windham's Art Fest 2011!

August 5 & 6, 2011 - ARTFEST, a free self-guided tour of local artists studios & galleries sponsored by the Windham Arts Alliance

Visitors got a peek inside local artist studios, exhibitions & galleries on the annual Windham Art Fest 2011 map. WFA gallery hosted a stream of visitors all weekend - thank you to all who visited, and took interest in the artists represented by Windham Fine Arts! It was a pleasure meeting all of you. We hope to see you in the gallery again in the future.

August 4 -  August 7, 2011 - Civil War Heritage Music Gathering and Encampment at the Centre Property located at 5379 State Route 23, Windham, New York from 9:00am until 10:00pm  each day.

In addition to Art Fest, an large following turned out to enjoy the Civil War Music Fest at the Civic Center from Friday through Sunday. Attractions included the music, reenactors, portrayers, era apparel and historical workshops throughout, as well as artwork exhibits, film, theatrical, and author/historian presentations. The town was humming with the sound of mid- to late-nineteenth century music all weekend!

If this wasn’t enough activity for one weekend, drivers could be seen pulling onto the shoulder to marvel at the schools of colorful, whirring bicycles slipping down Route 23 as the “Tour of the Catskills Bike Race” wrapped up in Windham on Sunday.
